102 Mixed Use is located at the center of vibrant downtown Palo Alto, California. Positioned right across from the major transportation hub in the city, the building is easily accessible in this prime location. Along University Avenue are numerous shops, restaurants, parks, and much more. At 102 University both residents and businesses will have all the luxuries of being in downtown Palo Alto without the hassle. Also nearby is Stanford University at the other end of beautiful Palm Drive.
102 Mixed Use is four stories tall with subterranean parking and a roof garden. The first and second floors are commercial space with 3 two-story townhomes accessed through a third floor common area. Each residential unit has a private green roof.
Some of the sustainable building technologies include minimal material layers, environmentally responsible materials such as reused materials, and a stainless steel fabric mesh to provide shading. The slender concrete plates and shear walls of the building, along with the high performing insulating glazing, will create a transparent skin yet still provide optimal acoustic and solar mitigation. The warm concrete structure is left exposed in both interior and exterior finishes. This project is pursuing LEED Platinum Certification and is expected to be complete in the Spring of 2010.
